Alpha Company graduation & October so far
October is already halfway over, which means I'm only about a week out from my Half Ironman and Liam's company just graduated over 400 new Marines.
We found out right before graduation that Liam will be going on quota starting at the end of this month, so he'll be working under Support Battalion for a few months. We don't yet know what his job will be, but this is exciting because it means he may not be working straight through the holidays and gets a little break from being in a training cycle.
Liam's team won the "Band of Brothers" award this cycle and his platoon took 1st place in field skills during BWT (which he was in charge of teaching). I was recognized at the CG's social for my contributions as a FRA (family readiness assistant) and received a rose pin.
